An independent guide
Long Term Visa Thailand is an independent website about long-stay visas in Thailand. We are not the Thailand Privilege program, not its operator, not a Thai embassy and not any other Thai government agency. We do not use the program's logo and we do not issue visas.
Nothing on this site is legal advice. Visa rules depend on your nationality and situation and can change. The partner law firm, or the program itself, confirms what applies to you.
How we earn money
When you send an enquiry, we pass it to a partner law firm in Phuket that is an authorized agent for Thailand Privilege. If you apply through that firm, we may receive a referral fee from it. You do not pay us anything, and sending an enquiry does not commit you to anything. Ask the firm about its own service fees before you decide.
Where our facts come from
- Thailand Privilege tier fees and visa lengths: the program's own site, thailandprivilege.co.th, last checked 25 October 2026.
- Processing time: the official tier pages say approval within 2 months, then activation within 1 week; one official guide says the background check typically takes one to three months.
- Work rights: official Thailand Privilege guides say members may not take local employment, except through the Flexible Plus Program. The official site gives no end date for the Bronze tier.
- Family add-on prices: the official pages give different figures (750,000 THB, 500,000 THB, and 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 THB), so we show all of them and say so.
- Retirement visa (O-A): the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs page on the O-A visa, plus the Thai embassy in Doha for health insurance and a local fee example.
- DTV: the Thai embassies in London and Budapest. Each embassy publishes its own list and fee.
- LTR visa: the Thailand Board of Investment, ltr.boi.go.th, including its FAQ.
- Every visa guide page links to the official page behind each figure and says on which date we read it.
